My wife is dependent on the Palm hardware and software. She has been getting my Palm "hand me downs" for a number of years and has had a Palm T5 for a long time. The PDA stopped holding a charge and was no longer useful. My wife prefers not to use a smartphone or similar item to keep her contacts and other personal information. Fortunately, I discovered Chris Short's ShortTronics while surfing the web looking for a solution. I ordered a refurbished Palm T5, an installation disc and hot sync cable. The instructions to install the Palm Desktop and the drivers for a 64 bit system so that HotSync could be performed by USB cable on my wife's Windows 8.1 machine were clear and easily followed. The contents of the failing Palm were hotsynced to the computer and then hotsynced to the refurbished perfectly working Palm. Delivery was rapid... 3 to 4 days at most. The support and advice from Mr. Short impeccable. Kudos to Chris Short for maintaining the existence of the Palm for for his outstanding service and support. I am indebted to ShortTronics.
